About the Role

Job Title: Senior Quantity Surveyor

Location: Balfour Beatty Offices, Westhill (Near Peterhead / Abderdeen)

Company: Balfour Beatty

Project: ASTI - Pathway to 2030

Build the Future. Shape the Energy Network of 2030. Balfour Beatty is proud to be a key delivery partner on the Accelerated Strategic Transmission Investment (ASTI) Framework, a major national programme that will upgrade and expand Scotland’s electricity transmission network. As part of SSEN Transmission’s “Pathway to 2030” redevelopment programme, ASTI will enable the connection of vast new offshore wind capacity, helping the UK and Scotland meet ambitious climate and energy security targets. From new 400kV overhead lines and substants to complex grid reinforcements across the North of Scotland—including significant infrastructure near Peterhead—the ASTI programme represents over £10 billion of investment and is central to delivering a resilient, low‑carbon energy future. Joining our Westhill team means being part of a landmark programme that is transforming the transmission network, providing clean energy for millions, and leaving a long‑term positive legacy across local communities.

We’re looking for an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to support this major infrastructure programme from our Westhill office near Peterhead—a key location for ASTI’s onshore transmission works. You will be instrumental in managing project costs, forecasting, change control, subcontractor management and ensuring value‑for‑money outcomes while maintaining the highest levels of governance, quality and safety. As a Senior QS at Balfour Beatty, you will lead and mentor junior commercial staff, collaborate closely with project teams, and play a critical role in making sure our delivery aligns with technical, financial and contractual expectations.
