Job Description
As a Technical Author in the UK BAT team you will help establish new environmental standards for large slaughterhouses and animal by‑product installations.
Responsibilities
* Draft BAT Conclusions and produce final, UK‑wide technical documents.
* Liaise with Technical Working Groups and present findings to stakeholders.
* Collaborate with DEFRA, the Standards Council and other partners to deliver industry‑wide BAT standards.
* Review complex industrial data and analyse the environmental impact of proposed BAT conclusions.
* Manage project timelines, deliverables and ensure publications on schedule.
Qualifications
* At least 5 years of experience in environmental regulation within the slaughterhouse and animal by‑product industry.
* Good understanding of process engineering, environmental legislation and UK policy.
* Strong technical writing skills and the ability to communicate complex data clearly.
* Experience analysing industrial data, interpreting permitting regulations and assessing BAT impact.
* Project management skills and a drive to deliver results on time.
* Capacity to work effectively with diverse stakeholders and build consensus.
