Job Description
3. Develop and implement category strategies to achieve cost savings and operational efficiency.
4. Manage end-to-end procurement processes, ensuring compliance with organisational policies and regulations.
5. Collaborate with stakeholders to identify procurement needs and deliver tailored solutions.
6. Conduct market analysis to identify new opportunities and mitigate risks.
7. Lead negotiations with suppliers to secure favourable terms and conditions.
8. Monitor supplier performance and manage relationships to ensure service excellence.
9. Provide expert advice and guidance on procurement best practices to internal stakeholders.
10. Prepare and present reports on procurement activities and performance metrics.
The Successful Applicant
A successful Interim Category Manager should have:
11. Proven experience in category management, ideally within the public sector.
12. Strong knowledge of procurement regulations and compliance requirements (PA 23 and PCR 2015).
13. Excellent negotiation and supplier management skills.
14. Ability to analyse data and provide strategic insights.
15. Effective communication and stakeholder management skills.
16. A relevant professional qualification or equivalent experience in procurement.
