As a production hygiene operative you'll a key role in maintaining hygiene and cleanliness within our butchery area. This role is responsible for ensuring that equipment, surfaces and machinery is cleaned to the highest standards, supporting food safety compliance and operational efficiency.
As you'll be working primarily in our butchery environment, you must be comfortable working around blood and other by-products of the butchery process. the role also involves cleaning machinery and tools so requires high levels of caution, attention to detail, and strict adherence to health and safety protocols.
Shifts: 5 days a week (including weekends), 10pm-7am
Salary: £26,370 per annum
Time Off: 30 days holiday + 22 additional days off
What You'll Be Doing:
* Carrying out thorough cleaning and sanitisation of equipment, machinery, surfaces and workspaces within the butchery area
* Following cleaning schedules and hygiene protocols to ensure compliance with food safety and hygiene standards
* Ensuring areas are ready for production use, supporting hygiene compliance and operational efficiency
* Remaining flexible to support other cleaning tasks or production areas when required
* Report any faults, hazards or hygiene concerns to the relevant supervisor
* Maintaining high standards of personal hygiene including hand washing, PPE use and accurate illness reporting
* Handling cleaning chemicals and equipment responsibly, adhering to COSHH guidelines and company policies
* Experience in a hygiene/cleaning role within a food environment (Desired)
* Understanding of food safety and hygiene standards (Desired)
* Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
* Strong time management and attention to detail.
* Has the ability to work autonomously and collaboratively
* Comfortable working within a butchery environment and around blood
* Able to lift items up to 25kg
