Overview
I am looking for an experienced Mechanical Engineer to service production needs in regards to regular maintenance, engineering issues and machinery breakdowns. All maintenance activities are in compliance with ISO 9001: 2000, ISO 14001 and other customer specific standards as relevant.
Responsibilities
* Carry out routine servicing and inspection on all production machinery and mechanical systems and equipment.
* Use the preventative maintenance system to reduce breakdowns and unplanned maintenance.
* Carry out essential legislative testing of mechanical equipment and systems.
* Work safely within the company's Health and Safety Procedures.
* Identify and keep essential stock items at necessary working levels.
* Assist the Engineering Manager in identifying process improvements through elimination of downtime and other continuous improvement initiatives (CIP Process).
* Assist the Engineering Manager with projects and developments.
* Liaise when necessary with external contractors.
Essential Skills
* ONC, HNC or City and Guilds qualified.
* Hydraulic and pneumatic experience.
* MiG and MMA welding experience is essential. TIG would be beneficial.
* Heavy / Medium engineering background.
* Lifting and slinging experience.
* Computer literate. Can use Microsoft Office. Use of PPM system such as Pirana or similar.
* Driving licence.
Preferred (Not essential)
* Turning experience.
* IPAF qualification. The job involves working at heights.
* Some basic electrical experience.
* FLT licence.
* ATEX experience.
* Gas burners / Gas Safe registered.
Hours of Work
7:30am to 4:00pm Monday to Thursday and 7:30am to 3:00pm on Fridays. Flexibility is required to work on Saturdays (paid overtime).
