Job Overview
Responsible for managing daily operations in accordance with BMW and Mitie policy and procedures within the confines of UK workplace and H&S regulations, best practice and law.
To manage the day-to-day operational requirements of the contract in line with customer and contractual expectations by leading and developing the site security/response team.
To be the initial management contact on operational security matters, ensuring a consistent quality service delivery and prompt responses to all incidents.
Main Duties
1. Medical emergency response - responding to requests, providing 1st aid medical treatment on scene, liaising with external services, accident forms, report writing, Corsica.
2. Handling 1st aid requests at Occupational Health Department (out of duty nurse hours).
3. Accident report writing, medical reports, medical log, transfer requests from OHD to/from hospital.
4. Responding to spillages that may have environmental contamination impact - oil, paint, solvents, petrol/diesel etc. - contain, clean up, escalate, report. Use of gas detection equipment, PPE, spill kits, vetta drainage inflation equipment.
5. Flood response - pumping, creation of dams, cleanup, reporting.
6. Planning, organizing, conducting, and controlling operations as per site instructions.
7. Carrying out operational audits of site equipment and paperwork.
8. Planning, supervising, and conducting on-site training as per training program.
9. Managing Contract Security Personnel, ensuring professional conduct, coaching & development.
10. Acting as a key contact for all daily operational security matters across the contract.
11. Ensuring all security activities & standards are met, incidents are managed according to policies and procedures.
12. Providing a highly visible security presence on and around site, operating internal and external patrols.
13. Responding immediately to emergencies and requesting assistance as needed.
14. Reporting incidents on and around the site.
15. Operating search policies as instructed by BMW.
16. Conducting initial investigations and report writing on incidents, accidents, damage, suspicious activities, parking.
17. Briefing security personnel on WI's, AI's & H&S documentation.
18. Reporting to Mitie and BMW management any actions or inactions compromising safety.
19. Maintaining a safe, clean, and tidy work environment.
20. Reporting damaged or unserviceable equipment.
21. Cooperating with Mitie and the client to fulfill statutory health and safety duties.
22. Providing first-line response to incidents (Fire, Security, Environmental, H&S) and managing them per procedures.
23. Supporting the client's Incident Management team and undertaking incident responsibilities.
24. Managing deployment of Security Team via planning, coordination, and supervision.
25. Ensuring staff work in safe conditions and follow procedures.
26. Raising security awareness and informing customers of procedures.
27. Managing CCTV, Fire, and Security systems, ensuring staff training and competence.
28. Undertaking other tasks as assigned for the benefit of the service.
29. Following policies and procedures owned and updated by Mitie and BMW.
30. Implementing a People Strategy including succession planning.
What we are looking for
* A Level or equivalent in English & Maths.
* NEBOSH or IOSH certification at minimum.
* FREC 3 or FAAW qualification at minimum.
* Full and current driving license; HGV desirable but not mandatory (to be checked prior to driving company vehicles).
* Physically fit to pass a site-related medical; must be clean-shaven due to breathing apparatus use.
* No aversion to working at height or in confined spaces.
* Excellent communication skills, including report writing, 1-2-1 dialogues, radio communications, logbook entries.
