Position Overview

We’re looking for a driven and passionate Technical Services Manager to join our dynamic team at VIVO, supporting a prestigious high‑security site at DSTL, Porton Down. Role & Responsibilities
* Lead a skilled team of engineers and operatives, ensuring planned and reactive maintenance is delivered to the highest standards and essential systems run smoothly.
* Maintain compliance, meet KPIs, and uphold the safety and security of a site that plays a critical role in national defence and innovation.
* Nurture talent, mentor apprentices, and develop successors; create a positive, high‑performance culture where people are valued and inspired to grow.
* Advise the client, manage remedial works, review inspection reports, and ensure all health and safety documentation is rock‑solid.
* Take ownership of billable works up to £25k, oversee CAFM maintenance scheduling, and ensure asset updates are recorded accurately.
* Build strong relationships with DSTL stakeholders, VIVO colleagues, and our trusted supply chain.
What You'll Bring
* A technical qualification (mechanical, electrical, HVAC or plumbing, etc).
* Confidence managing contractors and compliance.
* Reliability, self‑motivation, and excellent communication.
* Computer literate, able to work with data and use different CAFM systems.
* Holding or working towards SMSTS and SC Clearance is a bonus; prior MOD environment experience is a definite plus.
* Prepared for an admin‑heavy, office‑based role.
