The main purpose of this role is to manage a varied portfolio of Management Liability claims arising in various jurisdictions and including major accounts business. This role is within Chubb’s UK and Ireland Financial Lines Claims team.
The adjuster will be expected to produce high quality work product and will handle claims of differing complexity from first notification to closure on a proactive basis demonstrating customer focus, effective investigation, control of strategy and adjustment of claims in line with our best practices. The claims will primarily be Directors and Officers Liability, but may also include Corporate Legal Liability, Employment Practices Liability, Pension Trustee Liability and Crime.
The adjuster will work closely with other members of the team and contribute to building team success, providing mentorship to more junior team members. As a senior adjuster you will need to be a positive role model, motivating those around them encouraging an environment of support and excellence in both team-working and individual and team development.
You will be comfortable communicating on complex high value claims to senior partners and have an appreciation of the larger management liability portfolio as a whole, being proactive in early evaluation and escalation. Support in the role will be provided by a Team Manager and a Technical Manager, depending upon the type and level of support required.
Key responsibilities:
1. To efficiently handle and settle claims to bring them to a successful conclusion. This will involve working with policyholders, brokers, solicitors, loss adjusters, other professionals, insurers and third parties.
2. Self-management of own caseload to ensure timely settlement of files, accuracy and timeliness of reserving and control of vendor expenses.
3. To work within our standard process framework and our Claims Proposition to be the most trusted, solutions focused insurer with a particular focus on service delivery across the team for all internal/external client groups and partners. To fulfil all compliance and regulatory requirements.
4. To act as part of a team to ensure both team and individual goals are met and to work with third party service providers to ensure claims service standards are maintained
5. To represent Chubb at internal and external meetings including review meetings with brokers, key clients and London market representatives
6. To build and maintain client relationships and look after key accounts through providing a high-class customer service.
7. To provide general assistance and support to other team members, managers and underwriters, including projects and ad-hoc tasks as they arise
Requirements & Experience:
8. 5 years+ Financial Lines Claims and Directors and Officers Liability claims experience (plus some experience in Employment Practices Liability, Crime, Corporate Legal Liability, Pension Trustee Liability) preferred or legal background.
9. Sound understanding of the insurance/reinsurance market and insurance coverage issues.
10. Successfully completed (or presently undertaking or required to undertake) study for ACII or country equivalent or legal qualifications.
11. Continues to develop technical and broader business skills.
