Manufacturing Operative Location: Frome
Johnson Controls Frome is a high-pressure diecasting foundry, manufacturing sprinkler frames for the global market. We are looking for a Manufacturing Operative to join our team on a continental shift pattern. This is a hands-on role within a busy manufacturing environment, where safety, quality, and teamwork are key to our success.
You will work a 12-hour continental shift pattern (4 on / 4 off, including night rotation) .
What You Will Do Work as part of a shift team to manufacture components in line with the production plan
Operate machinery and equipment safely and effectively
Carry out checks to ensure product quality meets required standards
Support smooth production flow by highlighting issues and helping reduce downtime
Maintain high standards of housekeeping and workplace organisation
Follow all site and group Environment, Health & Safety policies and procedures
How You Will Do It Work safely at all times, following training and site procedures
Communicate clearly with team members and supervisors on shift
Take responsibility for your own tasks while supporting the wider team
Identify and report hazards, unsafe practices, or quality concerns
Contribute to a positive, cooperative team environment focused on continuous improvement

What We Are Looking For Essential:
Previous experience working in a manufacturing or production environment
A strong commitment to safety, quality, and teamwork
Ability to follow procedures while working independently when required
A reliable, practical, and proactive approach
Desirable:
GCSE Maths and English (Grade C/4 or above)
Experience working with machinery or within a foundry/industrial environment
An interest in continuous improvement and learning new skills
