Corporate Security Senior Advisor - 30942

As Corporate Security Senior Advisor, you will work in a small team responsible for providing assurance that we are effectively managing security risks and fostering a positive security culture. You will serve as a role model for security, promoting good behaviors and contributing to safeguarding the organisation's people, data, information, and physical assets.
Key responsibilities include:
1. Assisting the Corporate Security Manager in overseeing and mitigating security risks.
2. Providing leadership on assessing and managing security risks, including security responsibilities.
3. Collaborating with risk owners across the organisation to understand, assess, and mitigate risks.
4. Ensuring assurance to the Senior Responsible Officer (SRO) for security, EA Board, and Executive Directors.
5. Partnering with Defra group Security to develop security strategies, policies, and processes.
6. Leading initiatives to improve security culture through training, communication, and engagement.
7. Running governance meetings for security decision-making.
8. Maintaining networks with security professionals to stay informed about the latest developments.

Experience and skills required:
* An understanding of the broader influences on organisational security to adapt to evolving risks.
* Proven leadership skills to achieve outcomes, influence, and inspire others.
* Ability to build effective partnerships within Defra and the Environment Agency to jointly manage risks.
* Experience working with senior stakeholders, managing multiple priorities, and balancing demands.
* Experience in fostering cultural change, stakeholder engagement, and implementing business change is beneficial.
Additional information includes mandatory training, incident response duties, and travel requirements. The role is hybrid, based in England with some national travel. An informal session will be held on Wednesday, 21st May, 12:30-13:30. Interviews are scheduled for the week of 16th June 2025.
