The Role
As a Supervisor, you are the ultimate Service Role Model in our store. Along with the Managers, you are responsible for creating a world-class shopping environment for our customers. You lead the team, setting the pace, driving productivity, while maintaining a positive and fun environment. You inspire the teams by showcasing what great looks like.
You will be responsible for leading the team daily, in all areas of the store, deputising for the Managers, ensuring both the sales floor and behind-the-scenes operations run smoothly. You are an excellent communicator and always work with pace and authority, getting the best from the team.
This is a temporary pop-up store, so the role will be on a temporary contract.
Responsibilities
1. Supervise team members in duties and performance, providing feedback where necessary and reporting team strengths and weaknesses to management.
2. Motivate, guide, and mentor team members to exceed goals and create a positive environment during shifts.
3. Train new team members in company standards, customer service, and job duties.
4. Work with other supervisors and management to set and evaluate stock, logistics, projects, and overall goals.
Driving Results:
1. Clearly communicate with and direct the team to ensure all tasks are delivered.
2. Drive business initiatives and support the team to meet targets (e.g., email capture).
3. Support Managers in achieving all team targets.
4. Build relationships across the business to share best practices.
1. Make commercial decisions and suggestions to improve business performance.
2. Ensure store standards meet company expectations, creating the right shopping experience for customers. Escalate issues preventing stock availability.
3. Use business reports to identify risks and opportunities, and leverage store visits for insights.
4. Monitor competitor activities on high street and online, supporting Managers to stay ahead and provide a unique shopping experience.
Developing the Best:
1. Take ownership of your own development, acting as a role model for the team.
2. Support the Manager in recruiting and coaching new team members.
3. Create a culture emphasizing wellbeing, recognition, and community.
4. Adapt your style to meet the needs of your team members.
Operations:
1. Identify potential risks and escalate appropriately.
2. Ensure health and safety standards are maintained, supporting Managers in H&S compliance.
3. Support the operational running of the store, including acting as a key holder and ensuring procedures are followed.
4. Monitor stock loss and markdowns, supporting control measures.
Future Focus:
1. Plan ahead for store activities such as stock takes, layout changes, and promotions.
2. Embrace new technology and initiatives, coaching the team on multichannel retailing.
