Are you an experienced Pump Services professional, looking for your next opportunity? We’re working with a leading mechanical engineering business based in Dudley who are known for delivering innovative, high-quality solutions across a wide range of industries. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a strong technical background and proven leadership skills to play a key role in overseeing the pump fitters’ team and ensuring work is carried out to the highest standards. Salary is circa £43,680 per annum depending on experience / £21.00 per hour. Benefits include 5% pension contribution, 32 days holiday including Bank Holidays – increasing to 33 days including Bank Holidays in 2026, life assurance, cycle to work scheme, birthday vouchers, cash health care scheme, EAP and free car parking. Hours of work are 40 hours per week, working 7:30am to 4:00pm Monday to Friday. As the Pump Services Supervisor, you’ll take responsibility for:
* Overseeing the work of pump fitters within the pump services workshop
* Providing technical assistance and guidance where required
* Coordinating with other supervisors to ensure production goals and deadlines are met
* Scheduling work based on fitters’ skills, experience, and availability
* Ensuring health & safety procedures are always followed, including correct PPE use
* Completing and reviewing workshop reports for customer handover
* Inspecting completed work, ensuring accuracy and correcting defects as needed
* Allocating daily tasks to fitters and monitoring attendance records
* Interpreting engineering data, drawings, and technical documentation
As the Pump Services Supervisor, you will have:
* Strong knowledge of various types of pumps
* Excellent organisational and communication skills
* Ability to train, mentor, and develop staff
* Health & safety, environmental or quality training, however this is not essential
* Experience in reviewing documentation such as job instructions, drawings and QC documentation
* Experience in selecting and using a range of measuring and testing equipment to check components is to the required quality and accuracy
* Time served apprenticeship in relevant field
* Previous tool room experience
