Overview
There is an exciting opportunity for a Cleaner to support our services at St Leonards Hospital. This post is 12 hours. 5.00pm till 8:00pm (times can be adjusted).
This role involves working as part of a team to maintain a clean, safe and comfortable environment in a clinical ward based environment and in non-clinical areas throughout the main hospital. Full on-site training is provided and PPE provision is included.
Employment in this post requires a Standard Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check which the Trust will cover the cost of. Applicants who subscribe to the DBS update service are able to present a valid DBS certificate instead of requiring a new check. Applications from candidates that require current Skilled worker sponsorship to work in the UK are ineligible to apply for this position.
This post is part of the [Facilities & Estates / Procurement] Service that Dorset Healthcare may transfer to an NHS wholly owned subsidiary company, from November 2025 or later. The NHS wholly owned subsidiary will continue to offer NHS Agenda for Change Terms and Conditions, including NHS pensions, to staff who transfer as well as new staff it recruits itself.
Main duties
* Support the Facilities Supervisor in their role and ensure the standard of cleanliness within the Trust is implemented and maintained.
* Main duties will include vacuuming, mopping, general cleaning/damp dusting, cleaning bathrooms, toilets, emptying bins, use of mechanical floor cleaning machines.
* Work as part of a team with a flexible approach, good communication skills and the ability to use your own initiative.
