Our partner school in Okehampton is an outstanding provider of education for students aged 5-19 with Special Educational Needs, including those with Autism, learning disabilities, communication challenges, and emotional/behavioural difficulties. The school provides a holistic, child-centred approach to learning, offering a safe and welcoming environment where students can develop academically, socially, and emotionally. The school offers a bespoke curriculum, designed to meet the individual needs of each student, with a strong focus on building essential life skills, independence, and confidence.
Position Details:
* Start Date: ASAP
* Contract Type: Full-Time, Temporary to Permanent
* Pay: £170 - £250 per day + SEN Allowence

Role Requirements:
* Design and Deliver Adapted PE Lessons: Create engaging, differentiated PE lessons tailored to meet a wide range of additional needs, including autism spectrum condition (ASC), social, emotional, and mental health (SEMH), and moderate learning difficulties (MLD).
* Support Emotional and Physical Development: Encourage confidence, resilience, and social interaction through structured physical activities, supporting students' physical and emotional wellbeing.
* Create a Safe, Inclusive Environment: Use effective classroom and behaviour management strategies to establish a positive, inclusive atmosphere where all pupils feel safe, supported, and motivated.
* Use Individualised Learning Plans (ILPs): Work closely with SENCOs and support staff to integrate EHCP targets and personalised outcomes into PE sessions.

Qualifications:
* Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent teaching qualification (e.g. PGCE, QTLS)
* Experience working with SEN pupils in a school or alternative provision setting - particularly within PE or sports coaching environments.
* Strong knowledge of inclusive teaching practices, physical development strategies, and adaptive sports equipment
