The Role of the Tooling Engineer:
As a Tooling Engineer, you'll be responsible for the performance, maintenance, and optimisation of high-speed, multistage progressive stamping tools. Collaborating with cross-functional teams, you'll solve complex tooling challenges, support New Product Introductions, and ensure tools are production-ready.
Here’s how:
* Troubleshoot and resolve complex piercing and forming challenges within high-speed multistage progressive stamping tools
* Work closely with NPI and design teams to ensure new tooling is fully optimised and ready for seamless production integration
* Consistently uphold high standards of craftsmanship and technical precision in all work
* Deliver clear, timely updates on tooling performance and apply root cause analysis to drive effective solutions
* Play an active role in refining tooling designs and updating technical drawings to improve functionality and reliability
* Identify and implement corrective measures to enhance production quality, efficiency, and overall tool performance
* Mentor and guide junior team members and apprentices, fostering skill development and technical growth
About You:
* Minimum 5 years’ experience with high-speed multistage progressive stamping tools
* Bench fitting and precision machining experience
* Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
* Strong mechanical problem-solving ability
* Comfortable working in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
* Proficiency with basic computer programs (MS Word, Excel)
* Experience with tooling optimisation and collaboration on design (desirable)
