Blueprint Subsea is an innovative company based in Haverthwaite, Cumbria. We design and manufacture a diverse portfolio of subsea products for the international offshore and defence markets. Our cutting-edge acoustic communications sensors, sonars, and diver navigation systems are at the forefront technological innovation in the field, and as we expand our team we are looking for a talented Electronic Test Technician to join us. Role Overview: As an Electronic Test Technician, you will be responsible for testing, diagnosing, and verifying electronic assemblies and subsea equipment to ensure they meet design specifications and customer requirements. You will work closely with production, engineering, and quality assurance teams, supporting new product builds as well as routine manufacturing. Key Responsibilities: Perform functional testing, calibration, and fault-finding on electronic PCB assemblies, sub-assemblies, and complete subsea systems. Use test equipment (oscilloscopes, multimeters, spectrum analysers, etc.) to verify performance against specifications. Diagnose and repair faults at component and system level. Carry out environmental and pressure testing on subsea equipment. Maintain accurate test records, documentation, and reports. Provide feedback to engineers on design-for-test improvements. Assist in developing and improving test procedures and rigs. Support production with technical queries during product build. Ensure compliance with company quality standards and health & safety requirements. Required Skills and Qualifications: Essential: ONC/HNC or equivalent in Electronics Engineering (or relevant experience). Strong practical skills in electronics assembly, testing, and troubleshooting. Hands-on experience using electronic test and measurement equipment. Ability to read and interpret circuit diagrams and technical drawings. Good IT skills and familiarity with electronic test software. Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving ability. Desirable Skills: Experience in subsea/marine electronics or ruggedised electronic systems. Knowledge of acoustic systems, sonar, or RF electronics. Familiarity with IPC standards for PCB assembly and soldering. Personal Attributes: Methodical and organised approach to work. Strong communication and team-working skills.
