Machine Operator | East Kilbride | £40,000 DOE + Bonus + Overtime
Monday to Friday, 39 hours per week | Permanent
Overview:
A leading engineering and manufacturing business in East Kilbride is looking to add an experienced Machine Operator to their team. This is a hands-on role working with a range of conventional machinery, with a particular focus on horizontal boring operations. You'll be joining a company known for its technical expertise, global reputation, and employee ownership model.
What You'll Be Doing:
Operating a range of machine tools, with a key focus on horizontal boring
Reading and interpreting mechanical drawings to machine components accurately
Working to tight tolerances, ensuring high-quality output
Using lathes, milling machines, drills, and other manual equipment
Measuring and inspecting your own work to maintain standards
Assisting with process improvements and standard procedures
Maintaining a clean, safe, and efficient working areaWhat You'll Need:
Experience as a Machine Operator or similar in an engineering/manufacturing environment
Ability to read and work from mechanical drawings
Skilled in operating a range of manual machine tools
Strong attention to detail and a quality-driven mindsetDesirable Experience:
Operating a Kerns Richard SH75 or similar boring machine
Overhead crane and counterbalance forklift operation
Awareness of safe working practices in a machine shopWhat's On Offer:
Salary up to £40,000 depending on experience
Paid overtime at standard hourly rate
