Role: Local Sales Partner (entrepreneurial role)

Location: Wellesbourne, Warwickshire, UK

Presence: In-person, local travel required

Start: ASAP

Hours: Flexible / part time

Compensation: Commission based, self employed

About Concert Bio & Role

Concert Bio (concert.bio) is a venture-backed, early-stage start-up using microbiome science to help growers harness their plant microbes. We combine DNA sequencing with greenhouse trials to help industry-leading growers monitor their microbial communities. We then use that data to develop beneficial microbes they can use in their systems.

We’re looking for a self-employed, proactive, entrepreneurial person to take ownership of selling our fresh greenhouse-grown tomatoes across Warwickshire and neighbouring counties.

This is not a typical part-time job. You’ll effectively run your own small sales operation. The more you sell and the better you sell, the more you earn.

What you’ll do

* You will independently find and win customers such as farm shops, restaurants, market stalls, and local retailers
* You will build relationships and manage repeat orders
* You will be responsible for delivery of produce to your customers
* You will grow your own customer base and develop your own approach to selling
* You’ll have flexibility in how you approach sales, pricing above the base rate, and how you manage your time and customer relationships.

How you’ll earn

This is a self-employed, commission-based role. You will be responsible for managing your own tax and National Insurance.

* You keep everything you sell above base (£1/kg for loose rounds, £1.25/kg for cherries)
* You will not have any cap on earnings
* You make more money the more you increase price and volume
* Mileage will be reimbursed aligned with order size

People who do well in this role treat it like a small business.

What this looks like (loose rounds):

* Sell at £1.50/kg → you earn £0.50/kg
* Sell at £2.00/kg → you earn £1.00/kg
* Higher-value channels (e.g. restaurants, markets) can significantly increase your earnings
* Likely available volumes: 1000kg per week (May) tailing to 250kg per week at the end of the season (October)
* Tomatoes ready for collection Thursday / Friday each week (no onsite cold storage)

Need to have

* You have an innate eagerness to push yourself and expand your abilities, both professionally and personally.
* You are confident speaking to new people and building relationships from scratch.
* You have the ability to take ownership of your work and operate independently without close supervision.
* You are highly motivated to earn based on your results and performance.
* You are good at planning, organisation and time management, with the ability to follow through on commitments.
* You have a love for working in a fast-paced, low-control environment where you have high ownership.
* You are based in or near Warwickshire.
* You have access to your own vehicle for deliveries.

Nice to have

* You have an interest in sales, business, or entrepreneurship.
* You have experience in customer-facing roles (e.g. retail, hospitality, events, or similar).
* You have an interest in food, local produce, or sustainability.
* You have experience managing your own projects or earning income independently.

Ideal Candidate

We’re looking for people who take initiative and enjoy figuring things out for themselves. The ideal candidate is confident approaching new people, comfortable taking ownership, and motivated by building something tangible. They’re organised, reliable, and energised by the opportunity to turn effort into real results. Most importantly, they’re excited by the idea of treating this as their own small venture, not just a part-time job. Ideal for students or individuals looking for flexible, entrepreneurial work.

To apply

Send a short message to lisa@concert.bio explaining:

* Why this role appeals to you
* Any relevant experience (formal or informal)
* A brief outline of your sales plan
* Your availability

Important note: We’re interested in hearing your own thoughts and motivations. Please don’t use AI-generated responses in your application – you won’t be taken forward if you do.
