We are seeking Lead Software Developers who will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of our digital platforms. As a Lead, you won’t just be writing outstanding code — you’ll own the technical direction, mentor a high-performing team, and influence architectural decisions that directly impact millions of users.
You will be at the forefront of building scalable, resilient, and high-performance solutions to support our rapidly growing omnichannel operations. Key Responsibilities
1. Provide technical leadership and guidance across the development lifecycle.
2. Collaborate with product owners and stakeholders to define technical strategy and solution architecture.
3. Lead and mentor developers, fostering a culture of excellence, innovation, and knowledge sharing.
4. Deliver clean, maintainable, and scalable code across front-end and back-end systems.
5. Ensure engineering best practices, including code reviews, thorough testing, and CI/CD.
6. Identify and address performance, scalability, and security concerns.
7. Champion Agile principles and contribute to an iterative, collaborative development process.
Essential Skills & Experience
8. Deep, hands-on experience with PHP, JavaScript, React, HTML, and MySQL.
9. Proven track record in a leadership or senior developer role, ideally within a high-traffic or retail environment.
10. Strong understanding of software architecture, design patterns, and scalable systems.
11. Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
12. Effective communicator, able to work cross-functionally with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
13. Passionate about code quality, performance, and continuous improvement.
14. Strong understanding of Agile/Scrum methodologies.
15. Eligible to live and work in the UK.
Desirable Experience
16. Exposure to cloud-based infrastructure and modern DevOps practices.
17. Knowledge of eCommerce platforms and customer experience optimisation.
18. Experience building enterprise-grade web applications and/or mobile applications (Android/iOS).
19. Familiarity with open-source tools, frameworks, and the wider tech ecosystem.
