We have a fantastic vacancy for a Band 7 Dietitian working mostly on the purpose built Digestive Diseases Unit at RSCH in Brighton to cover maternity leave. This unit provides local and regional care for medical and surgical gastroenterology patients. Your expertise may be required on additional wards to support complex nutrition support.
The post involves inpatient ward work, outpatient clinics and group sessions such as FODMAP. There is a high level of nutrition support involved in this post, both enteral and parenteral. Cross cover for critical care and Princess Royal Hospital may be required.
On our Brighton Site we provide regional services for cancer, renal, head & neck, stroke, trauma, gastro, paediatrics, HIV, cardiac and much more. We're a large, very friendly team and would be really keen to hear from you if you have a good range of acute experience. Main duties of the job
This post is mostly based in the Digestive Diseases Unit and provides dietetic care to inpatients and outpatients.
You will work very closely with the whole MDT in this very specialised post.
Substantial experience in all aspects of nutrition support is essential including enteral tube feeding. Experience of parenteral nutrition is essential.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities
As an integral member of the multidisciplinary team, you will take the lead and demonstrate a high level of expertise within the specialist area of gastroenterology including medical and surgical.
You will play a lead role in the nutritional management of this patient group and will provide specialist advice, education and support to patients, carers and other health professionals.
You will provide a lead on relevant clinics and/or group sessions e.g. FODMAP or Coeliac.
In addition you will actively be involved in the trust’s clinical governance programme and quality framework agenda by taking lead responsibility for ensuring continuing professional development, audit and research activities within this specialist area.
You will be responsible for close working with all members of the Nutrition Support Team and other Advanced Gastrointestinal Dietitians.
