This is an exciting opportunity for a highly motivated and self-sufficient Project professional to join our client's business. We are seeking an individual who can build effective working relationships and influence a wide variety of stakeholders, including senior management and cross-functional teams.
The successful candidate will have proven experience in developing and delivering industrial projects (>£500k) on schedule and within budget, using effective project management methodologies and continuous improvement techniques.

1. Own the project(s) and ensure that time, cost, and quality targets are robustly managed and delivered through the construction and execution phases.
2. Lead the design, contracting, construction, and testing of all project work to meet the requirements outlined in the full capital investment submission.
3. Explore all possible options for the project, ensuring thorough analysis and understanding of alternatives.
4. Conduct competitive tendering and appoint appropriate contractors throughout the project lifecycle, ensuring the right resources and skills are in place and contractor obligations are met.
5. Develop and manage a robust project schedule based on a stage-gate process to facilitate effective financial and commercial management, maximizing business value.
6. Manage adherence to corporate project governance procedures to ensure proper controls and project delivery as planned.
7. Apply an appropriate risk management process to identify and mitigate significant foreseeable risks.
8. Implement a quality management system to ensure all project outputs meet stakeholder requirements.
9. Provide health and safety leadership for the project team(s), taking responsibility for all H&S aspects of the project(s).
What is expected from you?
1. A passion for excellence and a solution-focused mindset.
2. Degree qualification in mechanical or electrical engineering or a relevant discipline.
3. Proven success in delivering engineering capital projects within an FMCG business.
4. Strong communication and influencing skills to deliver results and engage others.
5. Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
6. Proficiency in managing engineering contracts (>£1m value).
7. Proficiency in AutoCAD or other engineering design software.
8. Knowledge of relevant legislation (e.g., Construction, Design and Management regs 2015; Control of Asbestos regs 2012; Electricity at Work regs 1989; IET 18th Edition; PUWER 1998; Machinery Safety regs 2008).
9. Experience with Continuous Improvement methodologies and modern manufacturing techniques such as Lean, 5S, DMAIC, FMEA, SMED, and Value Stream Mapping is advantageous.
