You will be part of a dedicated team making a tangible difference in creating a better environment for people and wildlife, while supporting sustainable development. Your role will involve advising the Environment Agency’s National Infrastructure Team in the development consent order process and more broadly in respect of changes to both the planning and the national infrastructure legislative regimes.
Key Responsibilities
* Advise the National Infrastructure Team on development consent orders, planning law, infrastructure planning law and environmental law.
* Influence projects and wider regimes from an environmental legal perspective.
* Work autonomously on dynamic challenges, making a meaningful impact within a respected national organisation.
Qualifications
Qualified lawyers with the right to practise in England and Wales. Experience: 3+ years post‑qualification experience (PQE), managing own caseload without supervision.
Experience / Skills Required
* Confident and credible, able to explain intricate legal matters concisely.
* Strong analytical skills and up‑to‑date knowledge of public law principles.
* Natural curiosity and thrives working in‑house with clients in a collaborative environment.
* Ability to influence and persuade stakeholders, effectively communicating legal concepts to professional audiences.

* Sets and delivers high work standards, demonstrates drive to meet targets, and prioritises tasks to achieve results.
* Addresses needs of internal and external customers, providing rapid and effective responses.
* Applies knowledge of statutory environmental and technical requirements, utilising planning law to ensure compliance.
