People Solutions are currently recruiting for a 3.5 Tonne Driver to join our well-established client based in Kelso, Scottish Borders .
This is a fantastic opportunity offering excellent rates of pay and room to grow and progress.
This role will be ongoing for the right candidate.
You must undergo a DS/DBS check for this role.
Shifts:
Monday - Friday: start times between 04:30 - 07:00
Rates of Pay:
£12.21 per hour

Guaranteed minimum pay of 50 hours per week, even if routes are completed in less time

Day to Day Duties:
Your duties as a 3.5 Tonne Driver will involve but not be limited to:
Multi-drop deliveries during the working day, between 20-25 drops per day
Loading & unloading boxes/packages for onward delivery
Loading the vehicle for the following day's deliveries
Ensuring all loads are safe and secure
Conducting vehicle inspections and reporting any faults to management
Operating a 3.5 tonne refrigerated van in a safe and efficient manner
Maintaining accurate records, including delivery notes, vehicle maintenance checks, incident reports, and accident reports
Ensuring positive and effective communication with staff at delivery points
Adhering to food hygiene regulations while transporting food
Monitoring and maintaining the correct temperature regime of the refrigeration unit
Essential Skills:
As a 3.5 Tonne Driver you will need to:
Have previous multi-drop experience (preferred)
Hold a valid UK Category B Driving Licence and have held this for at least two years (some points considered)
Have thorough knowledge of vehicle operation and driving regulations
Communicate effectively both in writing and orally
Recognise and report any vehicle maintenance and safety requirements
Have a good understanding of road networks, navigational aids, and traffic regulations
Be capable of working to tight deadlines and using initiative
Be of good repute (you must undergo a DS/DBS check for this role)
Desirable Experience:
Experience driving any commercial vehicles would be beneficial
Basic food hygiene knowledge (training provided upon commencement of employment)
Training:
Internal training on food hygiene
Vehicle maintenance and safety procedures
Compliance training on legal and regulatory requirements
