Role: Quality Engineer

Working hours: 07:45 - 16:30 Monday to Thursday, 07:45 - 12:30 Friday
Location: Staverton, Gloucestershire
Salary: up to £55,000 per annum
Overview
A fantastic role has come up with my Gloucester-based client, a global engineering business, looking for a Quality Engineer to join their skilled team. The successful candidate will monitor, assess and report on the quality of product and processes, ensuring manufacturing processes are performed correctly and in line with required standards and specifications within the aerospace and defence sectors.
Key Responsibilities
* Improvement of compliance and quality of products/services.
* Monitor, test and report on quality of product and processes, ensuring manufacturing processes are performed correctly and identifying non‑conformances and improvement opportunities.
* Review, improve, design and implement standard operating procedures and processes to ensure that products meet required specifications and customer expectations.
* Carry out root cause analysis, problem solving and implement correction and corrective actions.
* Support deployment of Lean and Six Sigma methodologies within the Business.
* Drive NCR's close out in a timely manner with stakeholders across the business.
* Drive zero non‑conformance and right‑first‑time culture using recognised techniques.
* Conduct internal/external quality & compliance audits.
* Provide quality data / reports.
* Maintain relevant quality documentation.
* Raise corrective action requests and manage timely close‑out with relevant parties.
Qualifications & Requirements
* Minimum HNC qualified (Quality or Manufacturing Engineering).
* Knowledge of aerospace and defence sector requirements.
* Minimum quality management diploma.
* Trained in root cause analysis techniques.
* Minimum trained internal auditor.
* Lead auditor (beneficial).
* In‑depth knowledge of ISO 9001 & AS9100.
Experience
* Ability to understand and interpret engineering drawings.
* Ability to understand and interpret customer specifications.
* Knowledge of QC processes and inspection criteria.
* Able to identify and resolve problems using a structured and data‑driven approach.
* Training/experience in Lean and/or Six Sigma methodologies is beneficial.
* Experience working with quality management systems (QMS).
* Application of measurement, analysis or continuous improvement tools.
* PC literate.
* Ability to obtain UK SC clearance.
* Minimum one‑year related experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience.
