Job Description
We are seeking a Technical Application (TA) Engineer to manage and support enterprise applications and their underlying infrastructure.
The role requires strong operational ownership, hands‑on system administration capability, and database expertise—particularly in Oracle Database 19c.
The TA Engineer will be responsible for application operations, patching, system maintenance, troubleshooting, and supporting highly available enterprise environments.
Key Responsibilities
1. Application & Infrastructure Operations: Take ownership of multiple enterprise application products (e.g., IBM WebSphere Application Server, IBM MQ, Qlik Sense, Microsoft SharePoint, Pega Platform). Perform OS‑level and application‑level patching. Manage operational housekeeping, archival, backup, and recovery activities. Monitor and maintain IT systems and application assets. Provide onsite operational support when required, including after office hours.
2. System & Architecture Support: Participate in architecture discussions with development teams. Provide technical inputs on integration points such as Web services (REST/SOAP), Message queues (MQ), SFTP interfaces. Support design, setup, and configuration of fault‑tolerant and highly available systems. Understand and operate within enterprise 3‑tier architecture (presentation, application, database layers).
3. Database Administration: Minimum 2 years of hands‑on experience in Oracle database administration. Administer and maintain Oracle Database 19c environments. Database backup and recovery management. Performance monitoring and tuning (including analysis of Oracle Automatic Workload Repository reports). Administration of Oracle and MS SQL databases. Practical experience in Oracle GoldenGate is an advantage.
4. Security & Compliance: Apply IT security hardening practices aligned with government‑level security standards. Support vulnerability assessment and remediation activities. Maintain strong security posture and operational security mindset.
5. Troubleshooting & Incident Management: Troubleshoot application and infrastructure‑related issues. Perform root cause analysis and implement preventive measures. Support production incidents and ensure minimal downtime.
Required Skills
* Basic networking knowledge (TCP/IP, DNS, Load Balancing concepts).
* Basic server administration: Windows Server Unix/Linux operating systems; Understanding of enterprise 3‑tier architecture.
* Ability to design and support fault‑tolerant and highly available systems.
* Minimum 2 years’ experience in Oracle 19c database administration.
* Strong operational and support mindset.
Good to Have Skills
* Familiarity with Agile methodologies and SDLC tools.
* Scripting skills (Bash, Python, PowerShell).
* Understanding of web applications from frontend interaction to backend servers and databases.
* Knowledge of virtualization, containerization, and cloud infrastructure.
* Experience with IT security hardening and vulnerability scanning.
* Exposure to Oracle OGG and AWR reports. Familiarity with monitoring tools and automation practices.
Experience & Qualifications
* Experience & Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
* 2–5 years of experience in application/infrastructure support or system engineering roles.
* Experience in government or highly regulated environments is an advantage.
