Our client, a well-established company operating within the recycling and resource recovery sector, is currently seeking a Reuse Appliance Engineer to join their growing operations team on a temporary to permanent basis.
This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated and hands‑on individual to develop their skills within a fast‑paced and evolving industry.
Previous experience repairing domestic appliances is beneficial, although full training will be provided for the right candidate.
The successful applicant will be responsible for the inspection, grading, repair, and testing of a range of domestic appliances such as washing machines, tumble dryers, and other household white goods, ensuring products meet quality and safety standards before reuse or resale.
Key Responsibilities
* Fault finding and diagnosis of domestic appliances
* Inspection and repair of domestic appliances including washing machines, tumble dryers, and similar household products
* Repairing and testing products following inspection
* Salvaging usable components and spare parts from donor units
* Ensuring appliances are safe, functional, and fit for purpose
* Completing required documentation and reporting
* Supporting colleagues and contributing to team performance
* Maintaining a strong awareness of health and safety procedures
* Ensuring work is completed to high quality and environmental standards
* Keeping work areas clean, organised, and compliant with workplace procedures
* Reporting operational issues or concerns to management as required

Candidate Requirements
Essential
* Good attention to detail
* Positive attitude and willingness to learn
* Ability to work effectively within a team
* Comfortable working in an industrial or warehouse environment
* Physically capable of manual handling and moving large domestic appliances
Desirable
* Previous experience repairing domestic appliances or white goods
* Mechanical or electrical aptitude
* Experience within recycling, manufacturing, or waste management environments
* Basic IT skills including Microsoft Word and Excel
Working Hours & Pay
Monday – Friday
08:00am – 17:00pm
£13.43 per hour
