ASA Recruitment is seeking compassionate and skilled Mental Health Support Workers to join our client’s teams supporting adults with mental health needs in their own homes across Edinburgh.
This role focuses on promoting recovery, independence and wellbeing, working collaboratively with healthcare professionals to deliver structured care.
Key Responsibilities
1. Provide structured support, assisting individuals in managing daily tasks and emotional wellbeing,
2. Facilitate meaningful daily activities that promote independence, personal development and social engagement
3. Collaborate with health and social care professionals to implement individualised care plans
4. Respond effectively to challenging behaviours using de-escalation techniques and a trauma informed, person centred approach
5. Monitor and record progress, contributing to ongoing assessment and care planning
Essential Criteria
6. Minimum 6 month UK experience in healthcare and social sector with experience in mental health support within the UK preferred.
7. Current PVG membership or willingness to obtain
8. Strong understanding of mental health recovery principles and psychological/positive behaviour interventions.
9. Empathy, patience, and excellent communication skills
10. Ability to maintain professional boundaries and a calm approach under pressure.
