Key Responsibilities include:
Maintaining Employee Records
Updating the HR/Payroll system to reflect changes in staff details such as position, hours, grade, tax code changes, salary increments and pay awards in a timely and accurate manner.
Processing Claims
Inputting employee claims for subsistence, mileage, and overtime onto the payroll system, ensuring claims are accurate, properly authorised and compliant with internal policies and procedures.
Payroll Accuracy
Verifying payslip calculations following any payroll adjustments, conducting payroll checks and reconciliations to ensure data accuracy and compliance with relevant legislation.
Statutory & External Reporting
Generating and submitting statutory monthly returns to external bodies such as HMRC and East Sussex Pension Fund, ensuring all reporting complies with deadlines and regulatory requirements.
Customer Service & Queries
Responding promptly and professionally to payroll queries from staff, councillors, HMRC, East Sussex Pension Fund, and other external stakeholders.
