Care Assistant Days and Nights at St Mary’s Care Homes. Location: 16a Dean Road Scarborough Y012 7SN. Type: Permanent, Full-time (38.5 hours per week, includes occasional evenings and weekends). Sponsorship: Not currently available.

What You’ll Be Doing
* Ensure the highest possible levels of care are maintained by supporting/assisting Residents with washing, toileting, dressing, undressing, and all other aspects of daily living.
* Assist Residents in all aspects of their care needs (physical, emotional and spiritual). Provide attention when needed while ensuring Residents retain comfort and dignity.
* Pay particular attention to Residents with limited mobility or physical/learning difficulties, making the best use of aids provided.
* Closely monitor Residents who may be confused or have behavioural issues.
* Assist in the promotion of continence.
* Assist in the delivery of care for Residents who are dying or have a progressive illness. Assist with last offices as required.
* Observe care planning needs and complete written daily records as instructed and in line with the Company’s policies and procedures.
* Assist in social activities by interacting with Residents and helping them continue with hobbies and activities in the Home.
* Answer Nurse call system, assist as required, manage visitors and messages promptly.
* Under supervision of senior Care Staff, report on the well-being of Residents.
* Carry out regular checks on Residents at intervals determined by senior staff.
* Make Visitors feel welcome. Provide refreshments/assistance as needed.
* Make and change beds; keep rooms clean and tidy; manage waste in line with the Home’s disposal policy.
* Clean and maintain equipment used by Residents/Relatives (e.g., wheelchairs, hearing aids, spectacles) and keep the Home tidy.
* Record participation and feedback to ensure meaningful engagement.
