Purpose of the Role:
To build and assemble high-quality laser and SFX systems from component level to final product, following internal drawings and documentation. Ensure all products meet ER/FABERs QC standards and are built to withstand the rigours of touring and fixed installation. Support the R&D department with prototype builds and contribute to the refinement of assembly processes where needed. Assist with the daily operation of machines in the fabrication space, and ensuring a tidy workplace.
Skills and Experience:
• Experience assembling electronic and mechanical products
• Ability to interpret technical drawings and wiring diagrams
• Strong soldering skills including through-hole and surface mount
• Familiarity with cable assembly, crimping, and connector systems (e.g. Neutrik, D-SUB, PowerCON)
• Confident with workshop hand tools, precision assembly, and basic testing tools
• Computer literate and able to read work instructions via digital platforms and update build records
• Able to work alone or as part of a team, often to tight deadlines
• Experience in mechanical or electrical product assembly, ideally within the entertainment or AV industry
• Experience working to ISO or in-house QA standards with an eye for detail and consistency
As an Assembly Technician your responsibilities will include:
• Assemble laser and SFX systems to the highest standard, ensuring consistency and quality across all units
• Build mechanical enclosures, wire harnesses, and fit electronic modules to internal documentation
• Perform basic functional testing and quality control during and after assembly
• Support prototype builds for the R&D team when requested
• Work with the wider technical team to improve processes and flag any recurring issues or build errors
• Maintain accurate build logs and ensure workshop tools and materials are kept organised and in good condition

* Salary starting from £25,000, based on experience + Paid overtime
