Job Title: HR Advisor (Fixed-Term Contract – 6 Months) Location: Cramlington, Northumberland Hours: 35 per week (Monday to Thursday, 9am–5pm; Friday, 9am–3pm) Start Date: Immediate
Overview A hands-on generalist HR role supporting a multi-disciplinary workforce across manufacturing, R&D, technical and office-based functions. This opportunity sits within a fast-paced, unionised environment, delivering consistent HR support across key areas including employee relations, recruitment, and management guidance.
Responsibilities
* Lead on employee relations issues, including absence management, conduct, performance, and health & safety concerns
* Provide effective support to managers on day-to-day HR queries and internal communications
* Manage recruitment processes from vacancy approval through onboarding and induction
* Maintain accurate and confidential employee records; contribute to reporting and HR metrics
* Drive employee engagement, wellbeing, and retention initiatives
* Work confidently with HR systems and databases (experience with SAP SuccessFactors advantageous)
Qualifications & Experience
* CIPD Level 5 (or currently working towards)
* Proven HR advisory experience, ideally within a unionised or manufacturing setting
* Strong understanding of UK employment law and experience with ER case management
* Comfortable working collaboratively in a demanding, fast-moving environment
* High level of accuracy, attention to detail, and data reporting skills
