At IPS, we are global leaders in developing innovative solutions for the consulting, architecture, engineering, project controls, procurement, construction management, and CQV of technically complex facilities, primarily in the life sciences industry. We are looking for a talented EHS Manager to join our industry-leading Project Delivery and Construction team at our office located in Birmingham, UK.
Role Responsibilities
* Assist in maintaining compliance with EHS policies and regulations for engineering services, construction projects, and validation/compliance services.
* Visit client sites to audit and inspect project compliance.
* Support construction project teams with subcontractor qualifications, Safety Plan development and implementation, compliance inspections, and regulatory guidance.
* Research regulations and assist with EHS compliance at construction sites.
* Perform EHS audits and inspections at IPS project sites, record and report findings, and assist with corrective actions.
* Provide on-site EHS support, which may involve travel to project locations for several days or weeks.
* Review daily Job Safety Analysis reports from subcontractors.
* Assist with safety metrics recording and reporting.
* Support EHS department administrative functions and attend meetings as needed.
* Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications & Requirements
* Bachelor’s Degree in Safety, Engineering, or a related field.
* IOSH registration is an advantage.
* 10-15 years of safety and/or construction experience.
* Knowledge of construction safety topics such as fall protection, trenching, shoring, crane lifts, steel erection, hot work, confined spaces, and emergency plans.
* Strong knowledge of OSHA and European safety regulations applicable to construction.
* Analytical thinking, problem-solving skills, excellent communication, team building, and a strong work ethic.
* Ability to travel to client sites, with an expectation of up to 50% travel.
Preferred Qualifications
* Experience in pharmaceutical Design/Build/Validate processes.
