What you will do
1. Provide specialist electrical engineering advice and recommendations to the Process and Maintenance Departments, for example: on day to day matters; ensuring electrical supply meets demand; equipment failures; investigations; equipment strategies; and reliability improvements.
2. Provide professional electrical engineering support for projects, including: the preparation of screening studies, design bases and specifications for specialist projects.
3. Provide professional electrical engineering support and recommendations to management on electrical safety, infrastructure and technology issues.
4. Provide technical leadership to the engineering team and have ownership of electrical fleet health.
5. Maintain an overview of electrical team technical development and provide feedback to individuals on performance and leadership behaviours.
About you
To be eligible for this role, you must:
6. Hold an engineering degree in electrical engineering, or an equivalent subject.
7. Be a Chartered Engineer, as defined by the Engineering Council or equivalent.
8. Have relevant electrical engineering experience in an operational environment at a COMAH facility, preferably refining or petrochemical.
9. Be familiar with relevant legislative requirements, particularly the Electricity at Work Regulations, 1989 and DSEAR regulations.
Candidates should also have demonstrated experience of:
10. Trouble shooting and fault-finding electrical equipment
11. Working with high voltage switchgear
12. Working with generators
13. Working with UPS’s (Uninterruptable Power Supply)
14. Working with protection systems
15. Supporting major maintenance activities, plant shutdowns
