I am currently recruiting for an Interim Accountant for an established, reputable company in Lancashire. This contract role is to cover a period of maternity leave. The ideal candidate will be a Qualified Accountant with a background in practice and a strong focus on financial accounting. Key responsibilities include:
1. Leading the preparation of the Group’s statutory accounts, ensuring compliance with IFRS and other relevant standards.
2. Managing the half-year and year-end external reporting processes, including notes to the accounts and disclosures.
3. Acting as the main contact for external auditors, coordinating audits and resolving queries efficiently.
4. Liaising with external tax advisors on corporate tax matters, including tax computations and deferred tax calculations.
5. Ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial statements, maintaining strong controls and governance.
6. Assisting with the preparation and review of consolidated financial reports.
7. Providing cover for other department heads (such as FP&A and management accounting) as needed.
8. Continuously improving financial processes and controls, adhering to best practices.
9. Collaborating with the finance leadership team on financial reporting developments and regulatory changes.
