Stores and Logistics Manager – Manufacturing
Location: On-site
Salary: £35,000 - £40,000 (Negotiable, depending on experience)
Hours: 40 hours per week
Monday – Thursday: 08:00 – 17:15
Friday: 08:00 – 13:00
Time Off: 33 days holiday per annum (including Bank Holidays)
We are seeking an experienced Stores and Logistics Manager with a strong background in stores keeping and logistics management within an engineering environment. The role involves overseeing the day-to-day activities of the stores team, managing stock control, and handling logistics to ensure operational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:

Oversee stores operations to ensure cleanliness, safety, and organization.

Implement labelling systems for stock and storage areas.
*
Monitor stock movement and material storage.
*
Work with internal departments to meet material and stock needs.
*
Inspect incoming goods to ensure they meet purchase orders and specifications.
*
Book goods into AMIS and assign appropriate storage locations.
*
Manage kitting activities, ensuring materials are correctly labelled by project.
*
Coordinate material handover to Production to meet deadlines.
*
Handle returns of damaged, incorrect, or faulty goods in collaboration with the team.
*
Conduct daily and cyclical stock-taking activities throughout the year.
*
Resolve stock discrepancies through collaboration with Purchasing.
*
Monitor real-time stock accuracy within the AMIS system.
*
Coordinate domestic and international logistics, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards.
*
Lead and train stores and logistics personnel, setting performance expectations.
*
Identify and implement process improvements to increase efficiency.
Key Skills & Experience Required:

Experience in stores keeping and logistics in an engineering or manufacturing environment.
*
Knowledge of stock control, goods receiving, and dispatch processes.
*
Hands-on experience with MRP/ERP systems (preferably AMIS).
*
Leadership skills to manage and develop a small team.
*
Ability to resolve discrepancies and manage supplier relationships.
*
Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
*
Proven ability to improve stock accuracy and process efficiencies.
*
Experience in managing logistics, both domestic and international.
*
Problem-solving skills to address real-time issues and maintain stock integrity.
