The Pharmacy Department at Lancashire Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is delighted to offer a vacancy for a Full-time Senior Pharmacy Assistant - Supply and Distribution.
The successful candidate will be enthusiastic, highly motivated, and hardworking with a desire to contribute towards developing our services. Experience of working in a supervisory role and an understanding of warehousing and/or pharmacy working practices and procedures would be advantageous.
Responsibilities will include supervising and providing guidance to Pharmacy Assistants, supporting training and development, and maintaining quality and standards. Core duties will also include stock replenishment, delivery and dispatch, and stock control using the Pharmacy IT System.
The ideal candidate will possess 4 GCSE Passes at Grade C or above, including Maths and English, and have experience working in a pharmacy and/or warehousing environment. A NVQ Level 2 in Pharmacy Services or equivalent is also desired.
Main Duties
* Working under the supervision of the Specialist Pharmacy Technician and Lead Pharmacy Assistant
* Supervising and providing guidance to Pharmacy Assistants
* Supporting training and development of pharmacy personnel
* Stock replenishment, delivery and dispatch
* Stock control using the Pharmacy IT System
Person Specification
The successful candidate will have experience working in a team, excellent communication skills, and knowledge of stock control systems. A Leadership/Management Certificate and experience in Supervisory Management and Team Leadership would be advantageous.
* 4 GCSE Passes Grade C or above (or equivalent)
* Level 2 Certificate in the Principles and Practice for Pharmacy Support Staff (or equivalent)
* Experience of working in pharmacy
* Knowledge of stock control systems
* Good telephone/communication skills
