The role of a vehicle service technician is to maintain, service and repair vehicles to a consistently high standard. This apprenticeship programme is an exciting opportunity to kick-start your career with the Porsche brand. The programme lasts for at least 36 months (3 years) and you will be employed by Porsche Retail Group Ltd, attending block training at the Calex UK Training Academy in Slough, complemented by coaching visits, virtual classroom sessions and e-learning modules.
Responsibilities
 * Develop an understanding of workshop equipment and industry best practices.
 * Advise service receptionists about required repairs and produce time estimates.
 * Maintain repair and service records and ensure documentation follows workplace procedures.
 * Contribute to a safe and efficient workshop, segregate waste for disposal or recycling, and comply with environmental legislation.
 * Demonstrate due regard for personal safety and the safety of others to minimise risk of injury and vehicle damage.
 * Carry out fundamental tasks related to removal and replacement procedures on vehicles.
 * Obtain and interpret diagnostic and repair information, including electrical wiring diagrams, and use diagnostic equipment.
 * Follow recognised diagnostic procedures and apply problem-solving techniques to establish faults.
 * Report faults using company procedures and recommend appropriate actions; complete a wide range of repairs including complex procedures.
 * Test repaired and fitted components to ensure proper function and quality before handover to the customer.
 * Use ICT to create emails, word-processing documents and perform web-based searches.
 * Communicate effectively with team members and customers as part of service delivery.
Qualifications and Skills
 * Qualification: Level 3 Motor Vehicle Service and Maintenance Technician (Light Vehicle).
 * GCSEs: English and Maths at Grade 4 or above.
 * Hold, or be on track to hold, a full driving licence by the end of the apprenticeship (as applicable).
 * Communication skills, IT skills, attention to detail, organisation, problem solving, analytical thinking and team working.

 * Programme duration: at least 36 months (3 years).
 * Employed by Porsche Retail Group Ltd; attendance at Calex UK Training Academy in Slough.
 * Block training complemented by coaching visits, Virtual Classroom sessions and E-Learning modules.
 * Learning focused on achieving a nationally recognised qualification recognised across the motor industry.
 * Start date: Monday 19 January 2026; Hours: Monday - Friday, 8:00am to 5:00pm; In the 3rd year, Saturdays may be required on a rota basis.
 * Location: Porsche Centre Reading and related network facilities.
