About the Role
As Assistant Recruitment Manager, you’ll support the Head of Recruitment in overseeing a team of Recruitment Advisors, driving performance, and ensuring best practice across all areas of candidate attraction, screening, and onboarding.
You’ll be instrumental in ensuring only suitable applicants progress through the recruitment process, while also building strong relationships with internal stakeholders to meet workforce demands.
Key Responsibilities
Lead, support, and monitor the performance of the Recruitment Advisors to deliver a high-quality, cost-effective service.
Manage recruitment campaigns, screening and placement processes
Work closely with internal stakeholders to understand recruitment needs and build effective talent pipelines.
Represent the recruitment function in internal meetings
Maintain compliance with employment legislation and statutory standards, ensuring effective quality checks.
Promote a positive applicant experience by ensuring timely communication and clear next steps.
Maintain full compliance with Data Protection requirements and escalate breaches appropriately
Given the evolving international recruitment landscape, extensive knowledge of immigration law and visa sponsorship processes is essential for this role.
You will be expected to:
Guide and support the team on the legal and compliance aspects of recruiting international candidates.
Liaise with internal HR and external legal advisors to ensure visa and sponsorship processes (including Skilled Worker visas) are correctly managed and documented.
Ensure recruitment activities remain compliant with Home Office regulations and UKVI requirements.
Maintain up-to-date understanding of changes to immigration policies that may impact current or future recruitment pipelines.
What We’re Looking For
Educated to degree level or equivalent experience.
Proven experience managing high-performing recruitment teams in fast-paced environments.
Strong knowledge of employment law, recruitment best practice, and applicant engagement strategies.
Excellent organisational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
Able to manage competing priorities and work to tight deadlines.
Confident in interpreting data and presenting operational performance insights.
Willingness to travel between sites with flexibility, holding a full UK driving licence.
Background in healthcare or nursing/medical recruitment.
Experience working across multiple client sites and with diverse stakeholders.
Knowledge of NHS frameworks and terminology.
