Overview
IT Deployment Team Leader - NHS / Public Sector. 12 Month Fixed Term Contract. Location: Gloucestershire. Salary: £39,950 per annum. Driving Licence Required.
The role leads the Deployment function responsible for the installation, configuration, tracking, and lifecycle management of IT equipment across multiple sites, ensuring services remain efficient, compliant, and responsive to operational needs.
Key Responsibilities
* Leadership & Operational Delivery
o Lead and coordinate the daily activity of the IT Deployment Team
o Ensure delivery of a high-quality, customer-focused IT support service
o Manage workload allocation, performance, and service standards
o Handle escalations and work collaboratively with wider operational teams
o Support recruitment, mentoring, and development of team members
o Contribute to service improvement and operational efficiency initiatives
* IT Deployment & Asset Management
o Oversee the deployment, imaging, and configuration of IT equipment
o Manage the full lifecycle of IT assets across multiple locations
o Maintain accurate stock control and asset management records
o Conduct regular audits and ensure compliance with governance standards
o Coordinate equipment ordering, supplier engagement, and warranty management
* Governance, Compliance & Service Standards
o Work in line with NHS and public sector information governance requirements
o Support compliance with IT security, data protection, and audit processes
o Maintain accurate documentation and service records
o Produce reports aligned to service level agreements and performance targets
Experience & Skills
* Essential Experience
o Experience working in an IT support, deployment, or infrastructure environment
o Previous team leadership, supervisory, or senior technician experience
o Experience managing IT equipment, stock, or asset lifecycle processes
o Strong understanding of service delivery within a structured organisation
o Ability to work across multiple sites and manage operational priorities
o Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel across locations
* Desirable Experience
o NHS or public sector IT experience
o Knowledge of ITIL or service management frameworks
o Experience using IT Service Management (ITSM) systems
o Experience supporting large-scale device rollouts or digital programmes
o Familiarity with information governance and compliance requirements
