We are looking for an individual who has excellent people skills with experience in reception work, administration and telephone appointment centres. The perfect candidate will join our large, busy and friendly Radiology Admin Team.
Key Responsibilities
* Perform specialised reception cover, booking specialised imaging appointments and other administrative duties.
* Deal with queries face‑to‑face and over the phone, acting as the front line in meeting and welcoming patients, visitors and staff to the department.
* Cover the Basildon Hospital site, which includes Orsett Hospital, Brentwood Community Hospital, St Andrews Billericay and Thurrock Community Diagnostic Centre, and travel to these sites as required.
* Assist with reception work in different areas and a call centre within the main Basildon site and four off‑site locations, including main X‑ray department, Ultrasound Department, CTC Reception, Courtyard MRI and CT, Maternity Ultrasound reception, Orsett X‑ray Department, St. Andrews Centre, Brentwood Community Hospital X‑ray Department, and Thurrock Community Diagnostic Centre.
* Check in and out patients, handle patient queries, and book appointments.
* Support colleagues by covering absence and adjusting days/hours when needed.

* Excellent telephone manner.

* Work accurately and calmly under pressure.
* High level of computer literacy.
* Ability to multi‑task.
* Excellent time‑keeping.
* Flexibility to cover colleague absence and change days/hours if needed.
Working Hours & Locations
The job is 37.5 hours per week. We work various shifts over 5 days from Monday to Sunday, with different shift patterns and weekend work applying to this role. Our department is open from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Sample shifts: 8 a.m.–4 p.m., 9 a.m.–5 p.m., 10 a.m.–6 p.m., 12 p.m.–8 p.m. All shifts will be on a rota.
The role will be based at Basildon Hospital but you may be required to cross‑site cover at one of our other sites – Southend or Broomfield Hospital.
