Join our friendly and supportive Planning Services team at Cotswold District Council as an Enforcement Assistant and play a vital role in protecting and enhancing the character of the beautiful Cotswold District. Youll be part of an immediate team of six within the wider planning service of over 40 professionals, including development management, natural and built environment, and policy teams. No planning experience is required were looking for someone with great admin skills, strong communication, and a proactive, organised approach. This is a busy and varied role where youll be handling general enquiries, creating and managing enforcement cases, and providing coordination and support to the Principal Enforcement Officer. Youll engage with a range of people from residents and local councillors to internal colleagues so confidence, empathy, and good life skills are key. Youll often need to dive straight into tasks, using your initiative to manage workloads and meet deadlines. In return, youll gain valuable experience and insight into planning enforcement, with opportunities for informal shadowing and professional growth. Youll also be involved in projects ranging from small developments to major housing schemes, all within one of Englands most picturesque and historic districts.
