The role
As an Aircraft Inspector, you'll be playing a key part in delivering high‑standard aircraft inspections and maintenance, from scheduled servicing to Check A tasks, ensuring operational excellence and exceeding both customer and contractual expectations.
Day-to-day, you'll have the following responsibilities:
* Conduct scheduled and corrective maintenance on the LAFT aircraft fleet, including aircraft handling
* Supervise and certify technician staff in line with regulatory standards
* Perform pre‑use checks and scheduled maintenance on ground support equipment, ensuring full documentation compliance
* Carry out general duties as assigned, including driving, stores support, and housekeeping
* Accurately complete all maintenance documentation in accordance with legislation and company procedures.
Essential experience of the Aircraft Inspector
* Prepare aircraft for daily operations, including see‑in, see‑off, and fuel/oil replenishment
* Experience in military or civilian Part 145 maintenance environments
* Strong stakeholder engagement and customer‑facing skills
* Leadership and mentoring experience
* IT proficiency desirable.
Qualifications for the Aircraft Inspector
* Recognised Aircraft Apprenticeship or NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent)
* Demonstrated practical and theoretical engineering competence
* Valid UK driving licence.
* Experience in military or civilian aircraft engineering environments.
Security Clearance
The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain Security Check (SC) security clearance for this role.
