We have a great opportunity available to join Novus, our prison education provider at HMP Stafford, working as a Hospitality and Industry Cleaning Teacher. This role is offered on a permanent, full-time basis, working 37 hours per week.

Site Information
HMP Stafford is a notable Category C men’s prison, situated in Stafford, Staffordshire. Established in 1793, the prison has evolved significantly over the centuries. Initially designed to house a variety of offenders, it has been reclassified multiple times to meet changing demands. The prison’s capacity is approximately 751, with most inmates serving sentences ranging from two to four years. The prison offers extensive support and educational programs aimed at reducing reoffending rates.

Skills, Qualifications and Experience
* Hold a teaching qualification and where applicable, relevant subject specialist qualification – with a commitment to obtain the outstanding qualification within 12 months
* Hold a Level 2 qualification in Literacy and Numeracy
* Hold a Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)/ Qualified Teacher Learning and Skills (QTLS) or commit to work towards within a specified timeframe (Applies to Teachers in YOI only)
* Have experience in creating stimulating, vibrant environments which are conducive to learning and motivational for learners
* Have previous track record showing achievement of quality targets
* Have successfully produced accurate and timely reports
* Demonstrate effective interpersonal and communication skills
* Can motivate and enthuse learners
* Have organisational skills to prioritise workload to meet deadlines and targets
* Demonstrate positive team working
