Job Opportunity: SEN Teaching Assistant (EYFS – 1:1 Support) – Burnley Primary School

We are seeking a confident, compassionate, and experienced SEN Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming primary school in Burnley. This is a 1:1 role supporting a pupil in the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) who requires additional help to access group and class learning.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide 1:1 support to a pupil with complex needs, including physical behaviours towards peers and adults.
Help the pupil engage with group activities and classroom learning.
Implement strategies that promote emotional regulation and positive behaviour.
Work closely with the class teacher and SENCO to deliver tailored interventions.
Maintain a safe, nurturing, and inclusive learning environment.
Ideal Candidate:
Has experience working with children with SEN, particularly those displaying challenging behaviour.
Is confident in managing physical behaviours in a calm and professional manner.
Understands or is trained in trauma-informed practice.
Is patient, resilient, and able to build trusting relationships with children.
Holds a relevant qualification (e.g., Level 2/3 Teaching Assistant, SEN training) – desirable but not essential.
