Job Description:
The Measurement Engineer is responsible for ensuring that Rolls-Royce has fit-for-purpose measurement capabilities for our products to meet business, customer, and regulatory requirements. You will be responsible for the application and fitting of instrumentation to test vehicles and rigs. This role offers hands-on, non-repetitive work, primarily within the Measurement Engineering Laboratory, with some tasks requiring work from Module Build and Test Beds within ET&S Civil Aerospace Engineering Operations.
Instrumentation includes thermocouples, pressure tapping, metal temps, and strain gauges, used to measure engine stresses, vibrations, temperatures, and pressures in real-time.

Key Responsibilities:
* Marking out and fitting instrumentation on components, modules, and engines, including securing cables or tube lead-outs.
* Interpreting technical instructions, drawings, and standards to support instrumentation application.
* Manufacturing and installing strain gauges, thermocouples, etc.
* Supporting engineering operations with instrumentation installation and maintenance.
* Developing new application techniques and raising non-conformance issues.
* Implementing risk management and adhering to HSE policies.
* Working to deadlines, supporting graduate programs, and potentially supporting projects at other sites or flight programs.
* Collaborating with measurement specialists and development engineers to improve instrumentation methods.
* Supporting the electronics and telemetry team with practical skills.
Candidate Profile:
* Degree in Engineering or equivalent, or technician background.
* Experience with electrical equipment and interpreting engineering drawings.
* Preferably experience in instrumentation application or manufacturing.
* Strong communication and teamwork skills.
* Willingness to learn new skills and undergo training.
* Knowledge of lean principles, problem solving, and attention to detail.
