The role is for an enthusiastic Graduate Ecologist looking to develop a successful career while helping shape the world we live in. We are growing our UK presence and are looking for ecologists to join our national team of over 90 ecologists.
From Day 1, graduates will work on projects and receive support to grow in their chosen specialism as well as training to develop core professional skills. This is all part of Tetra Tech\'s Early Careers Programme, including mentoring, Chartership support, bonuses and more. We draw on the knowledge of our technical experts to develop the best solutions for our clients and staff.
A Graduate joining the Ecology team will assist our highly skilled ecologists with habitat and protected species surveys, desktop studies, data analysis, report writing, fee proposals, and extensive training. Career pathways are defined for all grades of ecologist, with a clear route to progression and professional development. They will be required to work with colleagues from across the wider business on multi-disciplinary opportunities and projects, so a willingness to understand how other parts of the business work will be required. Attendance at offices, events or sites may be required to deliver the role.
About the Ecology Team
* Over 90 permanent ecologists across 14 offices working as one cohesive team.

There is no single approach; teams manage their own ways of working, focusing on outputs. Meeting colleagues and clients in offices or onsite is important for collaboration, appraisals and development, but flexibility in how, when, and where you work is encouraged where possible.
Responsibilities
* Assist with habitat and protected species surveys (e.g., bats, reptiles, amphibians, otters, barn owls).
* Conduct desktop studies, data analysis, and report writing; assist with fee proposals.
* Learn and apply ecological survey and mitigation principles; develop field craft and consultancy skills.
* Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams across the business on project delivery.
Qualifications
* Minimum 2:1 Degree or equivalent in ecology, conservation, or a related discipline.
* Be a student or qualifying member of CIEEM (or actively working toward this).
* Understanding of ecological survey and mitigation principles.
* Strong written and verbal communication skills.
* Willingness to work flexible, unsociable hours including evenings and occasionally early mornings.
* Willingness to travel for work.
* Valid UK driving licence and ideally access to a vehicle.
* Ability to obtain SC clearance and DBS check.
