Overview
Reporting to the MD and working closely with the Senior Management Team the Finance Manager is accountable for all financial operations in the business. Specifically, this involves individual, team and cross-functional working to achieve the business plan by ensuring the entire company is engaged and motivated to achieve its financial objectives.
The role will initially also encompass the migration of the company’s bespoke Revenue system to an enhanced platform and drive the integration with Sage 200.
As part of the Executive team you will assume a strategic role in the overall financial management and success of the Company.
Main areas of responsibility
* Drive and manage the organization’s overall finance function to achieve the objectives of profit and sales growth
* Prepare all financial management reporting for review by the Managing Director and submission to Group
* Build relationship as the business stakeholder in the relationship with bank partners, ensuring proactive and positive engagement at all times
* Ensure full compliance with all reporting and debt servicing requirements with the bank
* Prepare full audit file and liaise with Group appointed auditors through the statutory annual audit process
* Review reconciliations for balance sheet accounts, prepayments and accruals at each month end, and cashflow forecasts
* Deliver comprehensive management information to the Senior Management Team on timely basis to budget management and forecasting
* Challenge and drive the business to ensure cost controls are maintained, efficiencies identified and investment / capital expenditure justified and substantiated with business plans
* Review the monthly VAT return for submission to the group company
* Develop all commercial opportunities into fully costed and approved business proposals
* Develop and deliver the Finance Report for the company Board Meetings
* Ensure that controls and procedures are implemented, tested and reviewed for purchasing, payments, contract sign off
* Establish standards of performance and monitor conformance for staff (through performance review) and vendors (through service level agreements)
* Provide leadership to finance department, with developing individuals performance and skills where required to enable effective performance as a department and to ensure that higher level expert knowledge is transferred
* Engage with the Group CFO on insurance, tax, and audit requirements as well as other Group policies
* Engage with the Group Head of IT to ensure systems and technology solutions support business requirements
