This position is responsible for the overall sales and marketing efforts of the hotel. Uses leadership skills to drive revenue, maximize profit, and ensure quality. Effectively manages assigned staff to achieve financial results, guest satisfaction, and positive employee relations.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Develops, implements, and maintains a comprehensive business plan that defines hotel sales objectives and supports financial goals.
2. Achieves business revenue goals and personal performance expectations for self and team.
3. Solicits transient, group, and extended stay demand generators to capitalize on revenue opportunities.
4. Markets the hotel through effective revenue/yield management to maximize profit.
5. Advises and implements changes to sales and marketing efforts based on feedback.
6. Manages sales, marketing, and catering expenses to maximize profitability and ROI.
7. Manages labor through proper scheduling and adjustments based on business needs.
8. Prepares and manages the department budget.
9. Manages company assets within budget guidelines.
10. Recruits, hires, coaches, and develops sales staff, evaluating performance and taking corrective actions when necessary.
11. Motivates staff through goal setting, feedback, and recognition.
12. Develops and maintains long-term, value-based client relationships to ensure guest satisfaction.
13. Ensures effective communication of client needs and resolves complaints courteously.
14. Trains sales staff and models appropriate guest service standards.
15. Utilizes sales tools/systems to report, forecast, and communicate sales data accurately.
16. Maintains data integrity and utilizes market intelligence tools to drive business.
17. Provides ongoing training to sales employees and maintains training records.
18. Analyzes quality issues, identifies training needs, and implements improvements.
19. Ensures a safe, clean work environment per regulations.
20. Communicates effectively within the team and attends all relevant meetings.
21. Adheres to all Standard Operating Procedures and training requirements.
22. Demonstrates strong communication skills and promotes a positive, collaborative work environment.
Qualifications:
* At least 3 years of sales experience, with 1 year managing direct reports preferred.
* Detail-oriented with strong communication and problem-solving skills.
* Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
* Valid driver’s license required.
Education and Physical Requirements:
* High school diploma or GED required; college degree or equivalent experience preferred.
* Physical ability to lift, push, and pull up to 20 pounds occasionally.
