Responsibilities
Operations Managers have full accountability for their departmental operations on a shift-by-shift basis. The role operates 24/7, 365 days a year. Operations Managers are accountable for monitoring and delivering high-quality operational performance every shift and mitigating risks to protect IAG Cargo’s performance. The role requires proactive and collaborative communication, strong leadership and pragmatic decision making as well as effective coaching, performance management and development of a team.
* Lead and motivate the London Operations team on shift to drive high engagement and a performance-focused environment with the aim of delivering the highest level of operational quality metrics
* Ensure high levels of productivity to meet the needs of the operation
* Conduct flow meetings, identify risks to performance, and implement mitigations
* Lead a performance-driven culture through effective performance and line management of direct reports and on-the-day shift teams, delivering in-the-moment feedback and structured one-to-ones
* Collaborate with internal stakeholders (Senior Manager, Cargo Operations, regional and sales teams) and third-party stakeholders (airline operating companies and airport authorities) to protect IAG Cargo’s interests
* Work flexibly across different areas of the London Operation as required
* Introduce performance improvements in collaboration with the wider management team
* Ensure health, safety and security of the operational area on shift; comply with operational and legislative requirements; work with the Safety Team to model and champion safety behaviors and challenge non-compliance
* Coach and support Team Leaders and Specialists to run day-to-day shifts by ensuring that the environment, facilities, systems, and materials are available to deliver a smooth and efficient operation
* Manage data within multiple systems to ensure operational delivery and proactive customer recovery; conduct root-cause analysis as needed
* Represent the team during safety events and ensure correct reporting processes are followed
* Understand and apply industrial agreements across the IAG Cargo London Operation

Skills and Experience
* Proven experience in an operational and/or industrialised environment
* People management experience in an operational setting
* Able to hold an airside pass
* Full UK driving licence and ability to obtain and hold an airside driving permit
* Excellent internal and external stakeholder management
* Proven experience in managing, coaching, and leading teams
