Whinfield Medical Practice are looking for a part time Phlebotomist/Practice Assistant Assistant (30.5 hours) to join our patient focused and multi skilled nursing team:
Working Hours 30.5 hours per week worked over 4 days
The post holder is expected to contribute to Enhanced Access cover:
Monday 8am - 4pm
Tuesday 8am- 4pm
Friday 8am - 4pm

Previous working experience as a Phlebotomist isessential. Knowledge of SystmOne is desirable.
The ability to work independently and prioritise yourworkload is required. Good interpersonal communication and organisationalskills are essential.

The successful applicant will be responsible for Phlebotomy, performing ECGs,Blood Pressure checks and urinalysis.

We are a large busy practice within over 12000 patients and8 GPs .

Job Summary:
* To assist medical personnel in the care of practice patients to include venepuncture, screening and investigatory procedures. The post will also include some administrative duties.
* act as a focal point of communication between patients, doctors, nurses and other members of the primary health care team
Main Duties and Responsibilities:
* Urinalysis
* ECGs
* Weight and height recording
* Chaperoning
* Processing and management of laboratory samples requested by GPs/Nurses
* Restocking/maintenance of equipment
* Restocking and maintenance of clinical areas and consulting rooms
* Record smoking status and brief intervention
Person Specification
Knowledge & Skills
* Experience in venepuncture.
* Blood pressure monitoring
* Ability to record accurate clinical notes.
* Excellent communication skills - written and oral.
* Effective time management - planning and organising.
* Ability to work as a team member and autonomously.
* Good interpersonal skills.
* Ability to follow clinical policy and procedure.

Experience
* Evidence of a relevant qualification in venepuncture.
* Level 2 English and Maths (equivalent to GCSE grade C or above).
